Reestablishing Credit

The filing of Chapter 7 bankruptcy will stay on your credit for 10 years. The filing of Chapter 13 proceedings will stay on your credit for seven years.

It is important to understand that although these proceedings appear on your credit report individuals are able to reestablish credit within one to two years after filing.
